November 2008
Dear Richard,
You would have been
very proud today. We held the 4th annual Richard C. Goodwin
March for Peace at the Lavi Forest with the participation of 3600
children, 400 teachers, and for the first time we even got about 50
parents joining in. The kids came from 34 different schools, and we did
have a nice almost balance of 55% Arab and 45% Jewish participants. The
March included the following:
5 kilometers track in
a perfect weather
8 activity stations such as: Peace information station, Jewish And Arab
Music, Shared Environment, Grafiti Wall, Message board and painting,
Arab and Jewish Cultural Dance, Drums station, and ID exchange station
Each kid received a copy of the "Rainbow" book
Singer Mariam Touqan was once again the star of the ending ceremony
A girls dance group performed an excellent performance
Significant media exposure Here is a great story with pictures and
video link as well. We will get it translated

And most importantly despite having all of these big numbers we did not
have any serious injury of any of the kids.
Just wanted to share
the good news with you, and will be sending a more detailed one very
soon after we also get final accounting, and feedback.
We now start working
on the next event: The 4th Richard C. Godwin Festival for
Peace scheduled and announced for the 14th of May. I hope
you can plan to attend.
Once again, thanks.
